I was born and live in Gisborne.
I have always had a passion for art and have worked with
various mediums of painting and sculpting in clay.
In 1992 while going through a change of direction and
uncertainty about where my career was heading, I was
introduced to greenstone and the opportunity to work at the
Stone Studio was presented; I now work there full time
and have since exhibited at the Tairawhiti Museum with
fellow carvers in our " cut loose " exhibition, appropriately
named as this was to mark a new beginning towards more
freedom for artistic and creative expression.
I feel it a privilege to be working with pounamu, which has
such prestige and spiritual significance unique to New
Zealand. |
